Can/Make/Do/Think

I'm sort of my 80-year-old self, in training.
It's kind of all about affirmation. I CAN. There's nothing intimidating about the stove, the knitting needles, or the sewing machine. And there's nothing wrong or bad about me or my body.
I CAN.
Here, you'll read about:
Things I MAKE
What I DO
How I THINK
If this doesn't sound like fun to you, I guess I'll just give these handmade mittens and the jar of preserves to somebody else.

This post, which I got via Amber’s excellent blog, is spot on.

I’ve noticed since I got my mohawk, in fact maybe since I cut off my hair, progressively shorter and shorter, and started wearing it less and less femininely, that men have left me alone a lot more. I still tense whenever I walk by a man or group of men alone in the street late at night. I’m sure that most of them are nice people, but I am consistently surprising guys I know when I tell them how intimidating a large cluster of men on a sidewalk can be to a girl alone.

I’m not really an object anymore, so much, and I kind of love it.
